This changes comes so Tulsa crews can keep up with the number of water lines breaking each day.
"Going into the weekend, you know, we don't want to have a bunch of breaks and not have people here to take care of them,” says Rick Caruthers, Tulsa’s Water Distribution Manager.
He tells KRMG that Tulsa is experiencing at least 15 water line breaks a day.
Caruthers says Tulsa had 200 breaks in July, “We are busy. Like I said, the 5 year average is around 150 (water line breaks) so the 200- we were a little busier than normal but not near as busy as we were last year."
He adds July and August in 2011 had about 300 water line breaks logged each month.
