TULSA —
Good news for commuters who use the Broken Arrow Expressway, all westbound lanes will be free of construction and fully open by late Friday night.
Kenna Mitchell of ODOT tells KRMG they finished the bridge deck replacement on schedule and can now open all three lanes to traffic.
They will restripe the area during the afternoon, so there will be some lane shifting.
Eastbound lanes between S. Harvard Ave. and S. Sheridan Rd. will remain closed probably through the end of the year, she says.
ODOT's aware of the headaches all the repairs have caused drivers, but Mitchell says they really had no choice.
"As drivers know, these were bridge decks that had seen their share of emergency repairs over the years," she said. "They were patches on top of patches."
She said the work on the westbound lanes finished right on schedule.
