Police search for answers in retention pond discovery

TULSA, Okla. —

The police are gone.  The yellow crime scene tape is gone.

There are no signs that anything out of the ordinary occurred at this east Tulsa retention pond last week.  Except for the bouquet of flowers placed along the water's edge, next to a relatively fresh set of tire tracks.

It's a makeshift memorial for an individual who has not yet been positively identified.

There are no new developments surrounding the discovery of the skeletal remains found inside a submerged SUV on Friday.

The detention pond  has attracted the curious and the contemplative.

One man told us, “It’s hard to believe…right here…in the heart of Tulsa this could be a dumping ground for a body.”

The SUV was registered to Sheila Sharp, who went missing 5 years ago.

Police say it'll likely be several months before DNA tests will determine whether the remains were those of Ms. Sharp.
