Driver dies in Tulsa accident on I-244 near Yale

OHP didn't comment on why the vehicle departed from the roadway

Two women survive a rollover accident
A woman is pinned for over an hour before passing away at the scene of a fatal accident.

Tulsa, Okla. —

A woman was killed late Saturday evening after a rollover accident on I-244 at Yale in Tulsa.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol tells KRMG the fatal accident happened at 10:45 p.m.

Three women were headed eastbound in a Chevy pickup when the vehicle left the roadway, struck an exit sign, rolled and then struck a light pole. 

The driver, 53-year-old Teresa Ann Benjamin, was pronounced dead at the scene after being pinned for over an hour.

59-year-old passenger Linda Lou Benjamin suffered internal injuries and was transported to an area hospital in stable condition. 

45-year-old Tiawana Maria Smith suffered a neck injury and was treated at the scene.

OHP didn't comment on why the vehicle departed from the roadway.
