Tulsa Election Board Secretary Patty Bryant tells KRMG there are a number of primary run-off racs and some special elections.

She admits it's been steady but slow at the election board on Friday.

"I wish more people would vote,” says Bryant, "I mean it is up to the candidates to get the voters out to vote for them.  It is not anything we do at the election board but big turn-out or small turn-out we still have the polls open on election day and we provide all the ballots and things just in case we have a huge turn-out- that would be a good thing."

Bryant tells KRMG that in-person absentee has gained in popularity but you can’t gauge Tuesday’s turn-out based on the early numbers.

She says it appears some of the same people who vote early are the same people that would have voted on Tuesday in previous years.

Still, she’s always hopeful that more people will exercise their democratic right.

"I am optimistic, I would love to see a huge turn-out and prove me wrong," says Bryant.

In-person absentee voting continues Friday through 6pm, Saturday from 8am to 1pm and Monday from 8am to 6pm.
