Muskogee County —

Two people died in a Muskogee County traffic accident Saturday afternoon.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol tells KRMG it happened around 1:15 p.m. two miles north of Warner.

A vehicle went off the roadway and when the female driver tried to over-correct, she crossed the center turn lane and slammed into a female heading in the opposite direction.

This caused the second driver to be ejected through her windshield.

OHP said drivers 47-year-old Misty Lauderdale and 51-year-old Angela Lietch both died at the scene.

No word on what caused Lauderdale to leave the road.
