Turner Turnpike construction alert

The Oklahoma Turnpike Authority is giving drivers a fair warning about construction on the Turner Turnpike.

OTA expects lots of traffic heading into Oklahoma City on Monday for the teacher rally, so drivers will need to know about some changes on the drive.

Drivers will find bridge construction at Wellston. One lane is closed in each direction of the turnpike there.

Here's what the OTA recommends:

Westbound traffic: Drivers will be able to exit at Wellston and take Route 66 to the Luther interchange and get back on to the turnpike, or continue on Route 66 to OKC.

Eastbound traffic: Drivers will be able to exit at Luther, take Route 66 and get back on the turnpike at Wellston.
