Tulsa, Oklahoma —

UPDATE:

OHP identifies the motorcyclist as 32-year-old Nicky Landon Willis of Tulsa. He was driving a 2008 Suzuki

A 32-year-old motorcyclist died this morning while fleeing an Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper.

OHP Lieutenant George Brown says a chase started at 2:13 this morning near 81st Street and Highway 169 when a State Trooper spotted 2 motorcycle riders on separate bikes speeding.

Brown tells KRMG that the chase wound through some neighborhoods near 129th East Avenue in Broken Arrow.

"The motorcyclist blew through a red light at 61st Street where that cycle struck an eastbound Tulsa World delivery van," Brown said.

He said the cyclist was wearing a helmet, but was speeding and was killed on impact.

"The pursuit was quick. It started at 2:13 a.m. and was ended at 2:18, about five minutes at speeds reaching in excess of a hundred miles an hour."
