A new construction project begins Monday at 6th and Peoria.  It is a street improvement project, as well as a waterline replacement.  The work is expected to be completed by October, and will narrow traffic in all directions at the intersection.  Traffic will be 1 lane each way on Peoria, and 1 lane each way on 6th street.

The construction at 6th and Peoria will also include new bike racks and benches, on-street parking, and a Centennial Clock at Centennial Park near the intersection.

This project is one of three intersections under construction for street improvement.  Work at 11th and Peoria started a few weeks ago, and 10th and Elgin will be the City's first modern roundabout.  Construction at 10th and Elgin will begin in October and will include decorative sidewalks & crosswalks, led street lighting, and cast-iron bollards.

The City of Tulsa will spend $2.6 million for all three projects and should have them all completed in 1 year.
