National Weather Service issues wind advisory

Fire Weather Watch
Tulsa and surrounding counties under a fire weather watch Sunday afternoon.

Tulsa, Okla. —

Update:  The National Weather service out of Tulsa has discontinued the fire weather watch.  There is now a wind advisory for counties North of Tulsa along the Kansas border until 6 p.m.

Tulsa and surrounding counties will be under a fire weather watch Sunday afternoon.

The National Weather Service say the dry humidity and gusty winds will create a critical fire danger.  Any wildfires could spread quickly and become out of control.

Pawnee, Washington, Osage, Nowata, Creek, Wagoner and Rogers County are also included in the watch.

The National Weather Service issues a fire weather watch when fire weather conditions are expected to occur.  It's an alert to expect possible wildfires during the watch.

It has rained in Tulsa and the surrounding counties this weekend.  The National Weather Service says there hasn't been enough rain to disrupt the possible fire conditions.
