The body of Rafael Torres was found in a car after it was pulled from the Caney River near Collinsville May 1.
The victim’s family had no idea of any enemies or why anyone would want to hurt him.
The Rogers County Sheriff’s Office found his cell phone and sifted through the numbers for clues.
One of the numbers led to Roman Medrano.
Investigators believe Medrano lured Torres to the bridge, under the impression he would be helping someone in a car accident.
An arrest report obtained by KRMG reveals that Torres had multiple gunshot wounds to his chest and back.
The document also describes a possible motive. Medrano said Torres had driven his wife to visit him in jail and asked her out to dinner.
The Rogers County District Attorney filed a first degree murder charge against Roman Medrano Wednesday.
