TULSA, Okla —

There are new developments in the case of the Tulsa police officer who was suspended for not ordering officers to attend an event at a Tulsa mosque.

A motion has been filed by the American Freedom Law Center on behalf of Captain Paul Fieids.

He was suspended in 2011 for refusing an order to instruct his officers to attend a law enforcement appreciation event at a Tulsa mosque.

The motion states senior police officials and the City of Tulsa retaliated against Fields for exercising his constitutional right to the freedom of religion.

Fields was suspended for violating department rules on being obedient and conduct unbecoming an officer.
