More flooding threatens already soaked Green Country

(TULSA) - The National Weather Service in Tulsa has issued a Flood Warning for all of Green Country until noon Tuesday and a Flash Flood Warning until 1:30 Tuesday morning.

FOX23 Chief Meteorologist James Aydelott says there is a chance for severe weather, including high winds, tornadoes and flooding.

"Especially southeast of I-44. It looks like Tulsa will be right on the northern edge of this severe weather threat," said Aydelott.

The last rainfall moved out of northeastern Oklahoma by 11:30 Monday morning.

The next round is expected by late afternoon through the evening hours.

Up to three inches of rainfall is possible.

Roads across the state are still closed due to flooding. Streams and rivers are also full or flooded.

The Flood Warning for the Caney River in Tulsa and Rogers counties is extended until Tuesday evening.

The stage was 27.98 feet Monday afternoon. Flood stage is 26.0 feet.

Be ready to act should flash flood warnings be issued for your area.

Do not drive your vehicle into areas where water covers the road.

At 4:30 the National Weather Service in Tulsa tweeted, "Storm was 5 miles south of Snow moving N at 30 mph, tornado very likely with this storm TAKE COVER NOW."
