Mist, cold temperatures effect OKC roads Christmas morning

OHP working multiple accidents
Oklahoma Highway Patrol is working multiple accidents, but no fatalities.

By Michael Purdy

Oklahoma City, Okla. —

Light mist and cold temperatures are already making roads and bridges difficult in Oklahoma City to pass.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol tells KRMG there have been several accidents on OKC bridges and highways, but no fatalities have been reported.

The hardest hit area is at I-44 and the Oklahoma River bridge just South of I-40.  OHP tells KRMG that's where at least four accidents have occurred in the last couple of hours.

Troopers are also working multiple wrecks on I-35.

Oklahoma Department of Transportation's Kenna Mitchell says the highway roads are wet and starting to freeze.  Still, no highways are currently closed.

Tulsa should see freezing rain and sleet before noon today.  The National Weather Service says Tulsa should see snow by the afternoon.
