Tulsa, Okla. —

Tulsa Police have now arrested two suspects in the home invasion and shooting of a former north Tulsa pastor early Tuesday morning.

Tulsa Police brought in 21-year-old Joeiune Deonte Nelson for questioning Tuesday afternoon and arrested him on a warrant from a separate case, but then later added a complaint of Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon in connection with the shooting.

Then around 8:00 p.m. Tuesday night, officers caught up with 26-year-old Markedrik Delmar Wilson at a house in the 4800 block of North Wheeling.

"We took him into custody after a brief standoff,"  said Tulsa Police Officer Leland Ashley.

Tulsa Police Corporal Mark Shelton tells us a man forced his way into a house near Apache and North Denver about 2:00 a.m. Tuesday morning and shot Rev. Kenneth Brooks who was inside.

"Someone did make entry into his house. When we last saw the victim, he was sitting upright on a gurney, giving us information. He seemed to bne in fairly good shape," Shelton says.

Brooks was a pastor of the City of Refuge International Ministries which is located near 1100 North Utica Avenue in Tulsa.

He was rushed in serious condition to the hospital.

Shelton tells us, "The victim's two sons were in their bedrooms when the shooting happened. Neither one was aware of anything. In fact, we were the ones who notified the sons that their father had not only been shot, but that he had made his way out the front gate and over to a neighbor's house to have someone call the police. We don't know 100% sure whether the victim knew his assailant, but we're looking into that right now."

About an hour after the shooting, police arrested a 16-year old girl who lives in the area.

We're told the girl had gone to the house, seeking some help from the resident.

We're told Brooks let the girl into his house and a few minutes later a man came into the house with a pistol and shot Brooks.

Police tell us the girl was connected with the man who came into the house as part of a possible ruse to get the door open and get inside.

Police were questioning her at the police detective division.

It's not clear at this point if she will also face any charges, Ashley said.

Police tell us robbery probably was the motive for the crime.
