Man receives life for first-degree rape

Tulsa, Okla. —

A jury convicted Michael Ray Harris of first-degree rape on Friday in Tulsa and sentenced him to life in prison.

Police say Harris sexually assaulted at least five women. 

He will return to court for 14 other counts including kidnapping, sodomy and first-degree rape.

Harris has previous convictions in Texas and Colorado as well.  Court records show he was convicted of sexual assault in 1993.  He was also convicted of aggravated robbery in Colorado in 1984.

He has been in the Tulsa County Jail since January 27, 2012 .
