Man with a knife shot and killed by Tulsa officers

A man is dead after an officer-involved shooting in midtown Tulsa.

The shots rang out near Third and Utica around 5 p.m. Police said a 58-year-old white man was taken to the hospital with at least one gunshot wound. He died before 6 p.m.

One witness at the scene said it looked like someone was trying to sell a car nearby when a man came up and pulled a knife on him.

The witness said the man then started walking around the intersection with the knife in his hand.

Then two police officers reportedly yelled for him to drop it. Witnesses said the man was walking away when one officer used a Taser at least once. Police said the man was still "aggressing" one of the officers, so they both opened fire.

Witnesses said officers immediately reacted after the shooting and performed CPR on the suspect.

This marks the sixth officer involved shooting by Tulsa police in 2016.
