Man accused of pointing gun at people over loud music

A man gave neighbors a good reason to turn down their music Thursday night.

We're told 54-year-old Thomas Stauffer admitted to pointing a gun at people outside of the Sand Dollar Apartments.

Tulsa police say when officers arrived, multiple people told them Stauffer was upset, because they were playing loud music from a vehicle.  The victims claimed he appeared to be intoxicated and pointed a handgun at them.

Officers were let into Stauffer's home by an unidentified woman and before long, they found the handgun.  It was the same gun that had been described by the victims and it was loaded.

Stauffer was then advised of his Miranda rights, but he felt like talking to officers.

He told police, "he pointed the gun at the victims because they would not shut up."

Stauffer also admitted to drinking vodka and he was drunk.

Police say he was taken to the Tulsa County Jail.
