TULSA, Okla. —

Radio Ink, the radio industry's premier management and marketing magazine, has chosen KRMG Program Director and Operations Manager Drew Anderssen as one of Radio Ink's "Best Programmers of 2011." Anderssen will be featured, along with others chosen for this honor, in an upcoming issue of Radio Ink.

"This is an incredible personal honor that I share with the rest of the KRMG Team," says Anderssen, who's been in charge of programming the state's top newstalk radio station since 2000.

Under Anderssen's leadership, KRMG, part of the Cox Media Group (CMG) Tulsa, has become the No. 1 radio station with Tulsa adults in the 25 to 54 age bracket, the most desirable demographic for media advertising. The station has been honored with a National Edward R. Murrow Award for Outstanding Newscast, and has also been named the Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters' Metro Market Station of the Year for nine of the last 11 years, including 2010. In 2009, KRMG was among the first news/talk stations in the country to simulcast on AM and on FM, and has further expanded its reach by partnering with broadcast television and cable as well as pioneering the use of social media and text messaging to build relationships with listeners.

"Drew's hard work and leadership by example are keys to KRMG's success and we're pleased his peers have acknowledged his accomplishments," said CMG Tulsa Vice President and Market Manager Gene Vidler, "You won't often find Drew at his desk. When you combine his working knowledge of all the aspects of this station, with his willingness to take on any job that needs being done, you're just as likely to find him out reporting a story, hosting crisis coverage or brushing snow off a satellite dish! By doing that, Drew demonstrates what we expect out of the rest of our team members and they rise to his level of dedication."
