Tulsa city leaders are teaming up with local businesses to find jobs for veterans.           

Mayor Dewey Bartlett is working with American Airlines, Spirit Aerosystems and Workforce Oklahoma.

"We're glad to have the opportunity to help match veterans with job openings at two of Tulsa's most valued employers," said Mayor Bartlett. "My office and the Mayor's Veterans Affairs Advisory Committee are always attuned to the needs of veterans and active-duty military personnel in our community." 

"We are also working with local educational institutions to help find solutions for the needs of Tulsa's aviation and aerospace employers who are in need of workers with appropriate skill-sets and training," the mayor said.

Two job fairs are scheduled for May 9 for American Airlines and May 11 for Spirit Aerosystems.

The job fairs will be held at the Workforce Oklahoma Eastgate Center at 21st and S. 145th E. Ave..

Applicants can speak with company representatives and use the computers to complete online employment applications. 

 The May 9th American Airlines job fair will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m..

American is looking for production control coordinators, aircraft maintenance supervisors, aviation maintenance technicians, averhaul support mechanics, aircraft cleaners and other positions.

The May 11th Spirit Aerosystems job fair will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Spirit needs assemblers, structural engineers, installers, and business analysts.
