TULSA, Okla. —

Senator Jim Inhofe was in Tulsa Monday.

The Oklahoma Republican was the featured speaker at the Tulsa Metro Chamber of Commerce Congressional Forum.

Inhofe discussed a number of topics, including America’s future role in Iraq

"It's put a lot of liberals in an awkward position, because in Iraq things are happening now that weren't happening before,” said Inhofe.

“I mean women are actually going to school and they're voting.  This is unheard of, and it's not going unnoticed in surrounding countries.”

Inhofe also talked presidential politics.

He admits it doesn't look good for his candidate Rick Perry.

“On environmental issues and energy issues, he’s the best one.  When you stop and think about it, all the rest have wavered at one time or another.”

Inhofe criticized Newt Gingrich for 'sitting on the couch holding hands with Nancy Pelosi, while embracing global warming.'

Gingrich later recanted his global warming position, calling it the dumbest thing he ever did.
