TULSA, Okla. —
“I wasn’t impressed.” Not surprisingly that was the reaction from Oklahoma US Senator Jim Inhofe to President Obama's State of the Union Address.
Inhofe says, "The things the President talked about tonight...in trying to enhance...are the very things he's been trying to destroy through his actions. Will America buy into it? I don't know."
Inhofe says he didn't like the way President Obama used veterans as props.
Inhofe says this Commander-in-Chief is anything but pro-defense: “You talk to our 45th (Oklahoma National Guard) when they get back from Afghanistan. And you ask them what this administration has been doing to the military.”
Inhofe also took the President to task on manufacturing, implying his words don’t match his actions: "He's trying to do the one thing that would be most damaging to manufacturing, and that is to accomplish cap and trade through regulation. He tried to do it through legislation and he couldn't do it. And so these regulations are what is really killing manufacturers. Yet he tries to cater to them by talking about his vision and looking to the future of manufacturing."
Inhofe says the best thing President Obama can do is to get out of their way and stop the over-regulations.
Inhofe says last night’s address was really nothing more than a stump speech for President Obama’s re-election bid.
