Oklahoma’s Republican Congressional delegation was critical of today's U.S. Supreme Court ruling on the federal health care law.
Congressman John Sullivan tells KRMG he strongly disagrees with the decision to uphold the individual mandate.
"Well, I think the Supreme Court got it wrong. I mean it is wrong to force people to purchase a good or service," says Sullivan.
He believes the ruling will change the relationship between the federal government and the people in this country.
Senator Jim Inhofe told KRMG he was disappointed.
"When people realize, now I'm talking about individuals, that if they are in a group and decided they didn't want to buy coverage, they're going to be subjected to a penalty of $695. That's not per family. That's per person," says Inhofe.
He says people who do have coverage will see their premiums go up an average of $2100.
Inhofe adds, "I think that this is going to be so unpopular that it will have a very positive affect on Republicans in the November election.”
The fact that the Supreme Court upheld most of Obama care didn't surprise Senator Inhofe but he did tell KRMG he was surprised that John Roberts sided with the liberals on the court.
Sullivan believes the ruling will lead to a repeal of the law.
"Obamacare survived today June 28th but it's going to die November 6th when we get a new President,” says Sullivan.
