Identity of fatal fire victim released

(SAPULPA, Okla.) - The Oklahoma Medical Examiner’s Office says 57-year-old Terry Lamb of Bixby was the victim in the fire in Creek County Saturday. The cause of death has not been determined at this time.

Police say the fire did not start in the victim’s room.

Investigators with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms have been called in to help determine what caused the fire at the Interstate Inn in Sapulpa.

Sapulpa Police and the ATF are requesting the public's help in locating a "person of interest," whom they believe was present inside the room where the fire originated. Daniel Gene Crew is a 35-year-old white male.

The investigation could turn into a criminal case.

About 20 rooms were damaged by Saturday’s fire and several families were displaced.
