Your drive to work got more challenging again Wednesday morning.  “Starting today at 7:00 a.m. crews are going to be closing the I-244 westbound off ramp at Memorial” were told by ODOT’s Kenna Mitchell. Mitchell told KRMG news the closure is to continue the work already underway in that area “this is part of the reconstruction of the pavement in that corridor.”

“This is going to be closed for about a month” Mitchell continued. Mitchell says that the work is important but there are other reasons as well. “To help make sure that crews are safe and traffic is safe we’ll need to close that ramp for at least that amount of time.”

How long exactly will the ramp stay closed? “It’ll be closed about a month” Kenna said but reminded us that all the work is subject to many things including the weather.

The Memorial exit is heavily used for several reasons. Tulsa International Airport is easily accessed from Memorial as well as American Airlines. Mitchell says for now ODOT has other suggestions “We’re going to encourage drivers to try to use the Sheridan off ramp for this time” she noted.

Mitchell also told us the westbound on ramp off Memorial to 244 will be closed on Friday, once again causing some adjustment to your drive.
