The hits just keep coming, and this time it was a truck hitting a bridge on the west leg of the Inner Dispersal Loop that's going to create a major traffic snarl for Tulsa drivers.

KRMG has learned the Oct. 15 wreck near W. 3rd St. and S. Charles Page Blvd. has left the bridge with major damage, and the repairs will take more than a month.

ODOT will begin work on the bridge Friday, and all eastbound lanes on I-244 in that area will be closed through Nov. 21.

All westbound lanes of W. 3rd St. and S. Charles Page Blvd.under the bridge will also close at 9:00 a.m. Friday, and remain closed until repairs are completed.

ODOT tells KRMG a project of this size would normally take several months to complete; however, the agency has offered the contractory, Manhattan Construction, a $20,000 per day incentive to get the job done by Thanksgiving.

The cost of repairs is estimated at $450,000.

ODOT plans to recover all costs associated with the repairs from the "party responsible for the damage."
