How to report a pothole

(TULSA) – Potholes are popping up everywhere after the recent snow storm.

AAA Oklahoma says phone calls for tire-related issues increased nearly 41% this month.

The City of Tulsa Customer Care Center is now receiving about 30 pothole calls a day.

If you would like to report a pothole in Tulsa, call the Customer Care Center at (918)596-2100. The number for Broken Arrow is (918)258-3587.

Tulsa Mayor Dewey Bartlett approved overtime Thursday to get the holes under control.

The estimated cost of $9,000 will be covered by unspent funds for vacant positions in the Streets & Stormwater Department.

Workers will be repairing thousands of potholes through the weekend.

Drivers will need to be careful and slow down while crews are out.

“We hope that our crews will be a welcome sight to Tulsans, and that they are shown respect,” said Bartlett. “These public servants are the same drivers who also spent hundreds of hours clearing our city arterials of snow and keeping our streets safer through the winter.”

A crew can fix between 200 and 300 potholes per day.

Experts say damage can range from $90 for a simple wheel alignment to $500 or more for replacing a top-of-the-line alloy wheel.

If vehicle suspension and steering components have been harmed, repair costs can run as high as $2,500.
