Washington, D.C. —
To be fair, it's presented as more of a "last resort".
But a new video from the Department of Homeland Security shows a potential victim grabbing scissors from a desk to try to protect herself during a workplace shooting.
The video also has many other suggestions like finding cover or a place to hide from a shooter.
It says to be sure to silence cell phones completely when hiding.
And it also suggests barricading yourself inside your office with heavy furniture if you can.
And it has some good tips on how to respond to any police or SWAT teams who arrive on the scene.
And while scissors are no doubt better than bare hands when trying to wound or subdue a shooter, the scene is already sparking amusement and derision from some people who've seen it.
