Head-on collision leaves woman in critical condition

By Russell Mills

TULSA —

A driver heading eastbound in the westbound lanes of the Broken Arrow Expressway triggered a head-on collision that left a Tulsa woman clinging to life.

TPD Cpl. R.W. Solomon tells KRMG the wreck occurred about 2:15 on the highway between Memorial Drive and U.S. 169.

He says a man driving a red car was headed the wrong way when he collided head-on into a grey car driven by a woman with a male passenger.

The woman was transported in critical condition and underwent surgery Saturday morning.

Her passenger was treated and released.

The other driver, who is suspected of possibly being DUI, was transported to St. John Medical Center in stable condition.

Police have not yet released the names of the people involved.
