It is dry enough and now dangerous enough that Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin has declared a state of emergency for the state.
This declaration is for all 77 counties because of the extreme or exceptional drought conditions.
Fallin signed the executive order today that allows state agencies to make emergency purchases related to disaster relief and preparedness.
“Extreme heat and dry conditions continue to affect the entire state,” Fallin said in a news release. “My administration will be ready to help provide whatever aid and assistance it can as Oklahoma communities work to cope with this drought.”
The executive order lasts for 30 days unless it is amended.
