TULSA —
A former Victory Christian Center employee who faces two sex charges hoped to see them dismissed Tuesday when he appeared in court for an arraignment, but a judge overruled the motion and reset the arraignment date to Feb. 1.
Israel Shalom Castillo, 23, stands accused of using a computer to facilitate a sex crime and making a lewd or indecent proposal to a minor.
Police say he used Facebook to send sexually explicit messages to a 14-year-old girl.
His attorney had filed a motion to dismiss those charges based on a lack of evidence.
Tulsa District Judge William C. Kellough heard arguments on the motion to dismiss, then overruled it and set the arraignment date.
Another former Victory employee, Chris Denman, has pleaded guilty to six felonies, including rape of a child under 14, forcible oral sodomy of a child under 14, lewd molestation, two counts of using a computer to facilitate a sex crime, and two counts of making a lewd proposal to a child.
A judge sentenced him to 55 years in prison and five years of probation last month.
