Former Tulsa County major, sheriff’s office reach legal resolution

The Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office told KRMG Friday that an agreement was reached between former Major Shannon Clark and the agency.

Clark was TCSO’s Jail Administrator and Public Information Officer.

Clark was first suspended in May 2015, then terminated a few weeks later. TCSO told KRMG Major Clark was let go due to his performance as jail administrator.

Clark was one of many high-ranking employees to leave TCSO as facts of the Eric Harris/Robert Bates case were revealed.

Sheriff Stanley Glanz would go on to resign amid the controversy surrounding that case.

On Friday, Sheriff Vic Regalado and Clark told KRMG they have reached a resolution of all of former Major Clark’s claims against TCSO and Tulsa County.

As part of this settlement, Sheriff Regalado will forward to the Tulsa County Board of County Commissioners Clark’s request that he be awarded his badge, retired law enforcement commission and service weapon.

Sheriff Regalado reconfirms he is committed to the citizens of Tulsa County and to restoring confidence and trust within the Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office.  Sheriff Regalado believes today’s resolution of former Major Clark’s claims is yet another step towards eliminating the cloud of the past administration.  Sheriff Regalado wishes former Major Clark well in his future endeavors.
