OKLAHOMA CITY —
Oklahoma Secretary of State Glenn Coffee says he plans to acquire the private law practice of the incoming executive director of the Ethics Commission when Coffee resigns from his post at the end of the month.
Coffee announced Monday that he will take over the practice of Lee Slater, who was selected Friday as the new head of the Ethics Commission.
Coffee announced his resignation last month as secretary of state under Gov. Mary Fallin.
As secretary of state he was one of Fallin's chief negotiators with legislative leaders on the state budget. Coffee says he intends to continue to represent the governor's office in negotiations involving the Chickasaw and Choctaw nations in a lawsuit over water rights.
