Far fewer "Occupy" protesters in Oklahoma City are being arrested than their Tulsa counterparts

Second night of protests, arrests in downtown Tulsa park

Here in Tulsa over 20 of the Occupy protesters have been arrested.  That number is one for their Oklahoma City counterparts.  What gives?

It’s actually very simple.  In Tulsa the protesters are being arrested for violating the 11 p.m. curfew at Centennial Park.  In Oklahoma City, the protesters have obtained permits for their stay at Robert S. Kerr Park so curfew isn’t being violated.

Oklahoma City Police Sgt. Gary Knight says the protesters there are also being well behaved.  That’s also the case in Tulsa, at least until 11 p.m. rolls around and the protesters here refuse to leave Centennial Park.

The lone protester arrested in Oklahoma City wasn’t detained for actions at Kerr Park.  Knight says he was arrested after they found drugs when he emptied his pockets.  That protester was being questioned by police after another protester died.  Knight says that death turned out not to be a homicide.
