TULSA, Okla. —

The search is on for the individual who shot and then robbed a 73-year-old man Thanksgiving Day.

It happened at a shooting range east of Wagoner.

Kenneth Payne suffered multiple bullet wounds and was left for dead.

Wagoner County Sheriff Bob Colbert said, "It's just a senseless shooting.  I've been in law enforcement for over 30 years and I've been involved in a lot of stuff like this.  But to see what they did to this veteran who served his country and be left for dead is just unbelievable."

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation reports the assailant made off with at least four guns from Payne's portable tool chest.

Colbert says, "We're holding nothing back on this.  We've got all of our investigators directing their attention on this full time.  We're not going to stop until we find who did this."
