Egg prices could rise

The new year is expected to bring rising egg prices across the United States. This, as California starts requiring farmers to house hens in cages with enough space to move around and stretch their wings. The new law also requires any farmer in the country selling eggs in California to abide by California's standards. One Iowa farmer says it'll cost millions to revamp his henhouses. An agricultural economist says egg prices could eventually settle at between 10 and 40 percent higher in California, but that they'll return to normal elsewhere in the country.
