Dog chases multiple school buses for miles, believed to be looking for child owner

By Chris Cordt

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. —

A child somewhere in Oklahoma may be missing a very loyal family pet.

Leaders of the Humane Society of Cherokee County say a driver reported that a beautiful auburn-colored dog chased one bus for an unbelievable amount of time.

The canine didn't give up until completely exhausted.

Then, workers at the bus barn in Tahlequah spotted the dog on their property.

As soon as another bus was in site, the dog would perk up and take off on another long chase.

Animal aid workers have told the bus drivers to share the story with children on all of the buses in case the dog belongs to one of them.

If no one claims the dog, it will be put up for adoption.

You can reach the Humane Society of Cherokee County at (918) 458-7997 or http://www.humanecherokeecounty.org/.
