A Del City Police Captain charged with manslaughter has surrendered.

Captain Randy Harrison shot and killed 18-year-old Dane Scott Jr. after a March 14th car chase.

Harrison surrendered Friday morning at the Oklahoma County Jail, posted bond and left with his attorney, Irven Box. “I believe under the statutes in Oklahoma case law that it was a justifiable shooting, said Box.”

Police claim Scott led them on a chase, crashed his car then ran away.

Court documents indicate Harrison took a gun away from Scott after a struggle.

Harrison then shot Scott as the teen ran off.

Scott implies outside influence may at work in this case:  “I don’t think it’s a coincidence that the day the Del City Police Department brought these charges to the District Attorney’s office, was the very day that Jesse Jackson came here talking about gun laws, race issues and things of that nature.”

Friends and family started a Facebook page called "Justice for Dane.”

They've also created a makeshift memorial where Scott was killed.
