Death of Eric Harris ruled homicide, drugs found in his system

The autopsy report on Eric Harris was released Tuesday, revealing new details.

The report shows a bullet entered Harris’ body through his right armpit and broke ribs and collapsed a lung as it traveled through his body.

The medical examiner officially ruled his death was ruled a homicide.

Harris’ blood work came back with positive tests for amphetamine and methamphetamine.

Harris was killed on April 2, 2015 during an undercover gun buy involving the Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office.

Harris ran from deputies and was shot by reserve deputy Robert Bates during his arrest.

Bates has since been charged with second degree manslaughter for Harris’ death.

High-ranking officials at the sheriff’s office have resigned since the incident uncovered problems with TCSO reserve deputy program.
