TULSA, Okla. —

A man who tried to rob an east Tulsa truck stop got more than he bargained for when some customers decided to fight back.

An assistant manager at the Flyin' J TruckĀ  Stop near E. Admiral Blvd. and S. 129th E. Ave. tells KRMG it happened abou t9:40 p.m. Thursday.

The suspect approached the store carrying a bag. He pulled a paintball mask and a weapon from the bag and entered, demanding money.

However, two customers realized the weapon was a BB gun, and one of them wrestled it away from him.

The suspect punched the man, but by then other customers began to get involved and he ran from the scene.

One of the customers threw a can of energy drink at him, which struck him but didn't slow him down, the manager tells KRMG.

He sent a photo taken by the truck stop's surveillance cameras of the suspect.

Anyone with information about his identity is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 918-596-COPS (2677).
