Court document: Murder-for-hire in South Tulsa deadly shootings

Zane Atchison
Murder for hire killing

By Staff

There is new information in a South Tulsa double murder from August 2011.

A court document filed today spells out a murder-for-hire in the shooting deaths of Patrick Shawn and Kaylyn Kosofsky in the parking lot of Open Bible Life Church on 71st Street just east of Riverside.

The document is an affidavit for probable cause arrest of Joel Pina, where a witness told police that Joel Pina offered Zane Atchinson a 'couple of stacks' of money to 'take out' Patrick Shawn.

One of those stacks is said to be $10,000.

The affidavit goes on to say that Shawn owed Pina about $45,000 and that the two had worked together and sold drugs.

Joel Pina is charged with two murder counts and was picked up earlier this month in Washington.

Zane Atchinson was arrested the day after the murders.
