It appears the controversy over a casino in Broken Arrow has taken a toll.

Broken Arrow's city manager David Wooden is currently on paid administrative leave.

The vote by the Broken Arrow City Council was unanimous.

This is the first step in firing the city manager and beginning a search for a new city manager.

The neighborhood group that opposes the casino, Broken Arrow Citizens Against Neighborhood Gaming, has been critical of the city's handling of the issue and Wooden's role.

They were also upset the city didn't inform the residents.

The Broken Arrow city council directed the staff to research a management consulting firm to handle the search for a new city manager.
