Broken Arrow Police are investigating a fatality accident overnight.
Broken Arrow Police Captain Mike Clark told the News On 6 that a pickup truck driver was southbound on Elm Place about one this morning when he failed to stop at a stop sign at the T-intersection with Jasper Street (131st Street South) and went airborne.
Clark says officers and firefighters "found that a pickup truck driven by a lone, white male had exited the roadway and struck a tree, went under the guy wires, PSO pole, struck a dirt mound and then a tree near the golf course, on the golf course actually. It looks like a head-on impact with the tree."
The driver died at the scene.
He was the only person in the vehicle.
His name has not been released.
Broken Arrow Police remained at the scene, trying to determine the driver's speed and any other evidence they could gather.
