Walmart at 81st & Sheridan reopens after bomb scare

By Steve Berg

Tulsa, Okla. —

Tulsa Police say a bomb threat was called into the Walmart Neighborhood Market around Noon Wednesday.

Tulsa Police, along with Tulsa Firefighters, blocked off all the entrances and exits to the parking lot of the store and evacuated the building as a precaution.

Police say after a sweep of the building, nothing suspicious was found and the workers and customers were let back into the building.

There have been a rash of bomb threats made to Walmarts in the Midwest during the past week.

Around a dozen bomb threats have been called into Walmart locations in Kansas and Missouri.

This is the third bomb scare at a Tulsa-area Walmart recently.

There were threats and evacuations at the 81st and Lewis Walmart Supercenter and also at the Walmart Supercenter in Sand Springs.
