Bomb threat causes evacuation of business at Port of Catoosa

Someone phoned in a bomb threat saying a device would explode within the hour at a business in the Port of Catoosa, and investigators say the call came from inside the business itself.

Chief Deputy Shane Rhames with Rogers County Sheriff's Office tells KRMG the call came in to the 911 center about 11:10 a.m.

The caller said a bomb would go off at the Linde Plant.

Deputies responded to the business, which was evacuated while the Tulsa Police Department Bomb Squad was called to the scene.

They carefully searched the building using specially-trained dogs, but no device was located and no explosion occurred.

Employees were allowed to go back into the building shortly after 1:30, Rhames told KRMG.

Simultaneously with that incident, TFD responded to a call regarding a small tank fire on opposite end of the port facility.

The fire was put out without incident, and no one was injured.
