Baby found dead in hot car

OSBI says the foster father forgot about the girl

Multiple agencies are investigating why a man was found dead.

By April Hill

Special agents with the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation say 3-month-old Mame Neta Attocknie was left in the back seat of a vehicle for at least 9 hours Tuesday in Geronimo.

Investigators say the girl’s foster father failed to drop off the child at daycare Tuesday morning after he took his son to school.

The foster father went home and went to bed after working the night shift.

The foster mother went to the daycare and discovered Attocknie wasn’t there.

She called her husband who said his teenage son had just taken the car to the local Dollar General.

Both foster parents rushed to the Dollar General and found Attocknie strapped into a car seat.

No one has been arrested.
