TULSA —

An armored truck rolled on its side early Friday morning, backing up traffic badly during the morning rush hour.

The wreck happened about 7:00 a.m. on Highway 75 south of E. 21st Street in west Tulsa.

KRMG arrived on the scene soon after it happened and found the southbound access to 75 off of Southwest Boulevard shut down by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Cars were having to patiently wait to get into the furthest inside lane southbound and snake their way around the wreck.

The truck was on its side in the middle of the outside lane, and had spun so it was facing northwest.

The hood had flown off the truck and landed off the roadway.

The driver tells troopers a van changed lanes in front of him then hit its brakes, and he rolled the armored truck when he swerved to miss it.

Trooper Brian Warren tells KRMG the armored truck has an onboard video system, they will review the recording to try and verify the driver's account.

He was not seriously injured, but was transported to the hospital as a precaution.
