71-year-old accused of chasing man with gun

A civil dispute between two people over property, had the potential to turn deadly late Monday morning.

Police say the incident happened around 11:45 a.m., near East Haskell and North Yorktown.

We're told 71-year-old Fred Massingale is accused of striking the other person's vehicle with his own.  He then drove away without exchanging insurance information.

Massingale wasn't done just yet.

Police say he returned to the scene around 10 minutes later and once again started arguing with the same person over property.  This time, Massingale stated, "I'm gonna kill you."

Massingale pulled a pistol from his waistband and began chasing the other person.  During this time, Massingale continued to make threats and he pointed the gun at the other person.

No shots were fired during the incident.

Officers arrived at the scene and arrested Massingale.  Police say he has a past felony conviction.

The name of the victim wasn't released.
