A Piece of World War II History is Getting a Fresh Face

(Muskogee, OK) - A piece of World War II history is getting a fresh face this weekend.  The Oklahoma Naval Reserves will put a new coat of paint on the USS Batfish in Muskogee on Saturday.

Muskogee War Memorial Park Manager Rick Dennis says they are going back to the World War II colors which is a black on gray color scheme.  Dennis says it will be free to get into the park but the submarine will be closed.

Dennis says the reserves will also have a gear shop and car wash to help raise funds for the painting.  He says about 100 future chief petty officers are doing this as part of their public service requirment.
