You won't believe which state is America's most corrupt

Research reveals corruption in the ten worst states costs taxpayers there over $1,300 per person, yearly.

The study looked at a period between 1976 and 2008 including more than 25,000 convictions of public officials.

In that time frame, the state with the worst behavior was Mississippi.

The top ten were;

1. Mississippi

2. Louisiana

3. Tennessee

4. Illinois

5. Pennsylvania

6. Alabama

7. Alaska

8. South Dakota

9. Kentucky

10. Florida

This isn’t the first time the Rebel state has ranked #1 on a list. A recent Gallup poll found Mississippi to be the most religious state in America.

Fortune reports "states with higher levels of corruption are likely to favor construction, salaries, borrowing, correction, and police protection at the expense of social sectors such as education, health and hospitals."

Those living in Iowa, Colorado, New Hampshire, Nebraska, Utah, Oregon, Minnestoa, Vermont, Kansas, and Washingtion can sleep more easily.

Those states are at the bottom of the corruption list.
